Chris Shannon Wins The First Call 50Springport
Great weather welcomed the fans and race teams to the Pre-Season First Call at Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway. The First Call was an open format following an A.B.C. format where cars race where they qualify. Different from division racing where cars race against cars built to the the rules for that division. With a very healthy number of cars with only two classes running, also on hand were the Barn Stock Front Wheel Drives.
In qualifying fast time for The First Call would go to Chris Shannon from Lawton, MI with a time of 15.973 and in the Barn Stocks Jacob Newman from Mason, MI would capture fast time with a lap of 19.588.
In the Barn stocks Kevin Collins would win the first heat followed by Jacob Newman, Darrell Harmon, Mike Day and Joshua Whitfield. Heat 2 was won by Chris Ried followed by Tyler Reading, Jessie Nobach, William Trudgen and Austin Spence. The A Feature was won by Kevin Collins followed by Jacob Newman, Darrell Harmon, Mike Day and Chris Ried.
In the A.B.C Stocks Heat #1 as won by Rich Boal followed by Chris Shannon, Bill Hartman, Adama VanAvery and Josh Trammell. Heat #2 was won by Joseph Hancock followed by Nick Stremme, Michael Havens, Roger Northrup and Derek Kearns. Heat #3 was won by Brad VanAvery followed by Jeremy Lafontain, Shane Miller, Dale Lewis and Richard Kinch. The B Feature was won by Nick Stremme followed by Steve Poniatowski III, Brad VanAvery, Jeremy Lafontain and Richard Kinch. The FIrst Call 50 main event was won by Chris Shannon who beat out Ron Maynard Jr, Craig Stephens, Adam VanAvery and Joseph Hancock.
The staff at Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway would like to thank all the fans and race teams that showed up to cheer or participate. Next Saturday the NAPA Outlaw Super Late Models will be on hand to kick off the season opening night celebration along with the ABC Stocks and Front Wheel Drive Barn Stocks.
